By Boxing Day you're tired of endless board games, Christmas films and Zoom conversations with extended family members. Which is why it's the perfect time to get engrossed in the real most wonderful time of the year – the menswear sales. We know, we know, it was Black Friday less than a month ago, but some of the shops are saving the best 'til last. For instance, Arket didn't discount anything at all in November – so you know that 26 December will be well worth the wait.
If you've got any gaping holes in your wardrobe, need to stock up on some last-minute NYE party-wear (tracksuits it is, then), or perhaps even guiltily next-day-delivery a forgotten gift, now is the time to buy. Luxury big dogs such as Selfridges, Browns, Mr Porter and Harvey Nichols have been known to knock as much as 70 per cent off men's fashion and footwear on Boxing Day. The same goes for high street stores such as Arket, COS and AllSaints.
Of course, when we encourage you to partake in a spot of Boxing Day browsing, we didn't expect you to do it from anywhere other than your sofa – not that you've got a choice this year. In some cases, early access is granted for those too lazy to physically shop (last year, COS's Boxing Day sale dropped in-stores on 26 December, but the discounts were online five days earlier). Handy, really, since most of us will be in a post-Christmas stupor and reluctant to peel ourselves out of our pyjamas, let alone leave the house.
Which ones should you bother to bookmark? It's all here in our helpful guide to nailing the Boxing Day 2020 sales:
Best Luxury Boxing Day Sales For Men
Mr Porter
Unlike its sister site Net-a-porter, Mr Porter launched its Boxing Day 2020 sale bang on 26 December. And it's a goodie: there's up to 50 per cent off selected lines.
We knew the discounts would be big. Mr Porter chose to skip Black Friday this year, so how else was all that old-season stock getting shifted? That’s double the discounted Prada waiting in the wings, people.
From basics to buzzy bits, here's what is on our wish list:
END
END has kicked off the sales early, continuing on from the success of Black Friday with a 60 per cent off mid-season sale. Here are some of the best bits:
Selfridges
Selfridges' Boxing Day sales are a big deal, with people queueing from as early as 7am outside the Oxford Street store. Obviously we won't be doing that (not this year – or ever, frankly) but we will be scouring those sales pages online – 50 per cent off is not to be sniffed at.
Harvey Nichols
Harvey Nichols winter sale is a biggie: there's up to 50 per cent off brands like JW Anderson, APC and Officine Générale.
Flannels
You can get 20 per cent off full price menswear at Flannels when you enter the code 'GIFT20' at the checkout.
SSENSE
Getting in early before the Boxing Day madness, SSENSE was already dropped some huge menswear deals before 26 December. There's currently up to 70 per cent off its streetwear-heavy offering, including graphic hoodies from Off-White, printed T-shirts from Heron Preston and sporty separates from Fear of God and A-Cold-Wall*.
Best High Street Boxing Day Sales For Men
Arket
Arket launched its 'winter sale' in-store on 26 December, but online shoppers were granted early access. We're excited about this one because, since the brand skipped Black Friday, there must be plenty of A/W '20 stock left to shift.
COS
COS's Black Friday sale saw select essentials discounted by just 30 per cent, which means there's plenty of old-season stuff up for grabs. The Scandi brand launched its winter sale early for 2020, but it's discounted even more stock (up to 50 per cent off) especially for Boxing Day.
AllSaints
AllSaints is knocking 20 per cent off everything full-price, as well as sale items, for Boxing Day.
Amazon
If Amazon Fashion isn't your go-to for clothes, it's definitely worth a look for great deals on luggage, watches and accessories. Shop the sale deals here.
GAP
Need some last-minute gifts or loungewear (very necessary for all that feasting/boxset bingeing) ahead of Christmas? GAP has just launched a huge sale, with up to 70 per cent off selected lines.
Urban Outfitters
Urban Outfitters is giving customers up to 75 per cent off, including branded bits from the likes of Dickies, Champion and Vans.
Nike
Nike is knocking up to 50 per cent off sportswear and shoes for Boxing Day 2020.
