We won’t pretend that the Amazon Spring Sale is awash with irresistible deals. In the league table of sales, this one sits beneath Prime Day and Black Friday where mind-bogglingly big discounts are concerned.

But that’s not to say that you can’t find a good deal out there right now. We've discovered several tech bargains, and if you’re in the market for some new premium wireless over-ear headphones, we believe it’s our duty to bring your attention to the cut-price Bowers & Wilkins PX8.

Yes, B&W’s luxurious flagship cans, which feature prominently in our roundup of the best over-ear headphones, have been discounted before. But £499 is the cheapest we’ve seen them. That's a substantial £100 (17%) off their usual price of £599.

Pros
  • Exceptional comfort
  • Stunning sound quality
  • High-end design and materials
Cons
  • Wear sensor is imprecise
  • You can get better ANC

Why the PX8? Well, as is usually the case with B&W products, design is key here. Nappa leather plus cast aluminium arms, the PX8 screams high-end.

Our technology editor is effusive in his praise for these headphones: "After trying almost every imaginable rival to these, I continually keep coming back to the PX8 – they look more appealing than audiophile-focused cans like the Mark Levinson 5909 and Focal Bathys, their sound profile is richer and more detailed than options like the AirPods Max or Bose pairs, they're more comfortable and breathable than almost anything else out there. I've used these since they launched in 2022 and I still adore them just as much as the first time I wore them."

Bowers & Wilkins talks about the "pristine" audio reproduction on offer from the 40mm carbon cones within these cans, and how they're at the pinnacle of over 55 years of audio engineering. Whatever the British music specialists have done here, all we know is that the sound and comfort is some of the highest quality we know of. So much so, they're actually worth £599, so finding them for less is something to be thankful for.

Whatever you’re listening to, the PX8’s impressively wide soundstage and nuanced delivery of vocals impresses, while the low-end has plenty of punch to boot. Noise-cancelling is excellent too, and that 30 hours of battery life is enough to see you through several long-hauls.

The only significant ding we've ever had against the PX8 was the high price.

Sadly, the black headphones are no longer in stock as new on Amazon, but you can still grab the Royal Burgundy or Tan models for £499 at the time of writing. We’re not sure how long that will be the case, but with the Spring Sale concluding on March 25, we suggest you add to cart ASAP, either on Amazon or on John Lewis as the department store is running the very same offer.

IOO, your ears deserve nothing less.
